The 2019 Sister Mary Gardner Scholarship Awards ceremony took place on Thursday, June 20, and showcased Notre Dame Health Care employees’ commitment to education. It was fitting to present this year’s awards during our St. Julie Anniversary week activities.
Nine employees, representing all programs on campus, were the recipients of scholarships from NDHC in memory of Sr. Mary Gardner, SNDdeN. As Sr. Sandra Napier, SNDdeN noted in her remarks about Sr. Mary, the recipients were “standing on the shoulders of a great woman.” The awards were presented in the Chapel at Notre Dame Long Term Care in front of an attentive audience of residents from LTCC and Notre Dame du Lac. In addition, employees were recognized for accomplishments ranging from achieving U.S. Citizenship to high school graduation, nursing program acceptance, Leadership training, and completion of Master’s degrees!
